Guides that sit next to the calculators

Last reviewed: 10 September 2026. This hub lists original explainers and live tools. Near-duplicate amount/city articles are no longer linked here.

Grow Money Calculator is a planning website. A visitor should be able to type an amount, a rate and a tenure and see EMI, interest or a corpus from the same identities documented on methodology. That is the product. A grid of hundreds of pages that only swap “₹10 lakh” for “₹25 lakh” does not add a new calculation, so it is not what we send people to from this page.

Use the topic links for a short reading list, or skip straight to a tool. Every number in the tables below was produced with the public engines on this site (js/engine.js), not copied from a bank brochure.

What this site is for

Compare a home, personal or car EMI before you talk to a lender. Sketch SIP, FD and PPF outcomes with an assumed rate you typed. Check a first-pass FOIR. None of those pages sanction a loan, allot mutual-fund units or file your tax return.

₹25 lakh home loan at 8.5% — tenure is the expensive lever

The EMI formula is reducing-balance: interest for the month is charged on outstanding principal; the rest of the instalment cuts principal. Stretching tenure trims the monthly figure and raises lifetime interest. The table is the output of that identity, not a quote.

₹25,00,000 at 8.5% per year (reducing-balance EMI)
TenureMonthly EMITotal repaidTotal interest
10 years₹30,996₹37,19,571₹12,19,571
15 years₹24,618₹44,31,328₹19,31,328
20 years₹21,696₹52,06,939₹27,06,939
25 years₹20,131₹60,39,203₹35,39,203
30 years₹19,223₹69,20,221₹44,20,221

From 10 years to 30 years the EMI falls by about ₹11,800, but interest more than triples. Open the home loan EMI calculator and change only the years slider to reproduce the row.

₹10,000 monthly SIP at a 12% assumed return

The SIP engine compounds a monthly contribution. Twelve percent is an illustration, not a past or promised CAGR. Change the rate on the tool if your working assumption is 8% or 10%.

₹10,000 SIP each month, 12% annual assumption
YearsAmount investedEstimated value
5₹6,00,000₹8,24,864
10₹12,00,000₹23,23,391
15₹18,00,000₹50,45,760
20₹24,00,000₹99,91,479

Confirm the row on the SIP calculator. For a corpus target rather than a contribution, use goal SIP or the guide SIP for ₹1 crore.

How we write, and what we will not publish

Calculator pages document the formula the JavaScript actually runs. Guides add worked tables from that formula. We do not invent named experts, star ratings or “already approved” loan badges. Older auto-generated article URLs may still exist so bookmarks do not 404; they are not the library, they are not linked from this hub, and they ask search engines not to index them. Read editorial policy.
