What is a PPF Calculator?
Public Provident Fund is a 15-year account with a government-notified rate and a yearly deposit cap (₹1.5 lakh under prevailing rules — confirm the current limit). Interest is generally EEE in current tax law; this tool does not file your return.
How it is calculated here
Each year the engine adds that year’s deposit to the running balance and applies the annual rate: Balance = (Balance + yearly deposit) × (1 + rate). Contribution timing inside the month is not modelled. Extensions in 5-year blocks are typed as extra years.
Formula used
Example calculation
₹1.5 lakh a year at 7.1% for 15 years is a long compounding path. Partial withdrawals and loans against PPF after the eligible years are not shown as cash-flow events.
