What is a SIP Calculator?

A Systematic Investment Plan invests a fixed amount at regular intervals. This tool compounds a monthly SIP at an assumed annual return, with an optional yearly step-up. It does not predict markets or select a scheme.

How to use it

Enter monthly SIP, expected return, years, and optional annual step-up (salary-linked increase). The output is estimated wealth, amount invested, and implied gain. Equity funds can have negative years; a smooth 12% line is an illustration.

How SIP returns are calculated here

Monthly rate i = annual rate / 12 / 100. Future value uses the annuity-due style SIP identity in the engine: FV = M × [((1+i)^n − 1) / i] × (1+i). Step-up increases M each year. Expense ratios, exit loads and tax on gains are not deducted.

Formula used

FV = M × [((1+i)^n − 1) / i] × (1+i)
Step-up increases M each year

Example calculation

₹10,000 a month at 12% for 15 years invests ₹18 lakh of principal and shows a much larger corpus on this formula. Change the rate to 8% and 16% to see how sensitive the ending value is. That range is not a forecast.

Limitations

No rupee-cost-averaging of actual NAVs. No dividend option. For a one-time investment use the lumpsum tool. For a spending plan on a corpus use SWP.
