Tax sketches for planning, not ITR filing

Last reviewed: 10 September 2026. Tax pages are educational sketches. Regime, slabs and exemptions change; this site is not a e-filing portal.

The useful tax question on a calculator website is not “what is the latest rumour about slabs.” It is “if I put this rupee into PPF, ELSS or home-loan principal, which ceiling does it hit, and what is left.” That is why the 80C tool shares one ₹1.5 lakh bucket instead of pretending each product has its own full limit.

Section 80C is one bucket

EPF contribution, PPF, ELSS, principal repayment on a home loan and some life-insurance premiums compete for the same ceiling in the old regime sketch. Filling PPF and ELSS with ₹1.5 lakh each does not create a ₹3 lakh deduction on this page. Open Section 80C and PPF together. New-regime vs old-regime choice is yours to confirm on the Income Tax Department tools.

HRA, GST, stamp duty

HRA uses the usual three-way minimum (actual HRA, rent minus 10% of salary, and the metro/non-metro percent). It does not know your Form 16. GST applies the rate you type to a base amount. Stamp duty is a percentage sketch on property value — state schedules differ and this page does not download every state’s table.
