What is a Loan Against FD EMI?
The FD stays pledged. You pay interest or EMI while the deposit continues to earn.
How is it calculated?
Enter the loan (often up to 80–90% of FD), the spread rate and tenure.
Formula used
EMI = P × r × (1+r)^n / ((1+r)^n − 1)
P = principal, r = annual rate ÷ 12 ÷ 100, n = months
P = principal, r = annual rate ÷ 12 ÷ 100, n = months
Worked example
₹3 lakh at 8% for 3 years has an EMI of about ₹9,400.

Frequently asked questions
Why not break the FD?
Breaking may lose interest. A loan against FD can be cheaper if the spread is small.
